Gyokuro - Jade Dew Green Tea

Gyokuro's tea leaves are covered by straw to avoid direct sun light twenty days before plucking. This creates more 'umami' (savoury taste) within the tea and less catechin or bitterness. It has a unique floral scent, full bodied sweetness and a pleasant refreshing taste.
Recommended brewing instructions:
Temperature: 50 - 60°C
Brewing time: 2 mins
Cold Brew:
Put apx. 5 grams of the tea in a tea bag; put it into a container with 1.5 - 2L cold water. Keep it in a refrigerator for 1 - 2 hours.
Brewing tea in cold water produces less caffein and less acid. Therefore, it tastes different, less bitter than brewing in hot water. This way of brewing is very refreshing and easy to drink. Great for a hot day or rehydrating after exercise.
